Note from Aakash Chandarana, Chief Steward and Coffee Roaster:
Welcome to the first Monthly News Letter.
Kavanah is a Hebrew word meaning “intention of the heart” - doing something with presence, purpose, and wholehearted devotion. That idea has shaped both my faith and the way I think about coffee.
Kavanah Roasters began with a simple desire: to roast exceptional coffee, build meaningful relationships, and use the business to support mission work around the world. While we are just getting started, my hope is that over time Kavanah will become a coffee company with a generous heart, directing a portion of every sale toward work that makes a lasting impact.
For the first six months, coffee will be roasted on the second or third Saturday of each month and offered to a small group of supporters. This approach allows me to focus on freshness, quality, and learning from customers as the business grows.

TASTING NOTES FOR THIS MONTH'S ROASTS
LIGHT ROAST
Blueberry • Bright • Floral
For our launch, we are showcasing a coffee from Ethiopia. I have been roasting this coffee for two years and absolutely love it.
This coffee on light showcases vibrant notes of blueberry and floral aromatics. This is balanced by a clean, bright finish, creating a lively and memorable cup.
DARK ROAST
Chocolate • Robust • Smoky
For our launch, we are featuring a coffee from Haiti. I recently started roasting this coffee and it has become one of my favorite dark roasts.
This coffee showcases deep chocolate notes with subtle smokiness resulting in a full-bodied finish. This is for those that enjoy some cream in their coffee.
